Moana Jackson – Identity and self determination

What stands about Moana Jackson speech is what he said about the right of self determination as the fundamental right and principle to guide indigenous people. In the knowledge and the traditions of indigenous people are our biggest strength and the reason we have to honor our ancestors and why we have to care about the next generations. He told the story about how indigenous people honored their ancestors in the previous discussions about the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, organizing a memorial service for the victims of colonization, even when the didn´t have the authorization to do it. That’s is the example why we have to conquest our rights and make our voice clear, for reparations and justice.
