Welcome

Knowledge Makers is a community of Indigenous researchers who are dedicated to raising our community’s voices and providing research that supports change. You are about to embark on an online version of Knowledge Makers, which was started at Thompson Rivers University, which is on the land of the Secwépemc people.

Over the next few weeks, you will meet 1:1, complete online workshops and participate in group online workshops as we work towards completing our special issue on Indigenous Food Sovereignty.

Each guided workshop has activities to complete and readings you can access. Throughout each guided workshop, you will find hyperlinks that lead to academic articles, blogs, podcasts etc. These links let you explore some ideas more in-depth if you wish to.

A note that there are photos of people who have passed located in these workshops which are accessed via the journal links.

Sometimes you find a place and it reminds you where you’re going. You put a notch in the tree to remind you and your children who follow after you. I thank you all. You have put a notch in my heart to remember.
